Masseter (Jaw) Botox

Masseter (Jaw) Botox is a comfortable, reversible medical aesthetic treatment that targets an enlarged or overactive masseter muscle along the jawline. It is used both for aesthetic purposes — to soften the jawline and slim the oval of the face — and for functional purposes, to reduce teeth grinding (bruxism) and excessive chewing-muscle activity. The procedure is performed with low-dose botulinum toxin injections planned according to local anatomy; the results are natural while preserving facial expression.

Before the procedure, a patient examination evaluates the volume of the jaw muscle, history of teeth grinding, facial asymmetry, and expectations. Photography and a jaw function test may be performed if needed. The procedure usually takes 10–20 minutes; anesthesia is generally not required, though a topical anesthetic can be applied if desired.
