Breast lift with implant is a combined procedure that uses mastopexy together with a silicone implant for breasts that have sagged, lost volume, or lost upper pole (upper fullness). This approach doesn't just lift the breast — it also restores natural, balanced fullness in the same session. The result is a younger, more lifted, and proportionate breast shape.
During mastopexy, excess skin is removed, the breast tissue is reshaped, and the nipple is repositioned to a higher, more anatomical position. In the same operation, an FDA-approved silicone implant is placed to restore volume in the upper breast and provide a long-lasting shape. The implant type (round/ergonomic), projection, and volume are individually selected based on chest wall structure, tissue thickness, skin elasticity, and the desired aesthetic outcome.
Surgical planning determines the incision pattern — periareolar, vertical, or inverted-T (anchor) — based on the degree of sagging and excess skin. Incision scars are hidden within the breast's natural creases and fade over time. Implant placement can be subglandular, dual-plane (partial submuscular), or subpectoral depending on tissue thickness. The dual-plane technique is often preferred for both upper pole fullness and natural movement.
The operation is usually performed under general anesthesia and takes an average of 2–3 hours. Discharge is possible the same day or after an overnight observation. Tightness, mild pain, and swelling are normal in the first few days; a special bra/corset supports the new shape. Return to daily life typically takes 7–10 days, and return to sports activities within 4–6 weeks.
Breast lift with implant provides more lasting upper pole fullness compared to mastopexy alone and prevents the "lifted but empty" look.
