During his five-year specialty training, Op. Dr. Deniz gained extensive clinical experience by working closely with respected national and international experts, particularly in the fields of facial aesthetics, rhinoplasty, body contouring and post-cancer breast reconstruction. Throughout this period, he continuously followed the latest developments by attending numerous congresses, symposiums and scientific meetings, while also contributing as a book chapter author, book translator, and author of numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications.

After completing his specialty training, Op. Dr. Erkan Deniz returned to Cyprus to begin practicing, building his professional vision around understanding his patients’ expectations with empathy and delivering the best results based on their needs and wishes. Rhinoplasty, breast aesthetics, facial rejuvenation, body contouring and post-cancer breast reconstruction are among his particular areas of interest, in which he has outstanding clinical experience.

He has taken part in numerous live broadcasts across the island, participating in interviews to inform the public about aesthetic surgery. In 2025, he also hosted a live program called ‘AESTHETIC TOUCHES’ on BRT, the island’s largest state broadcaster, hosting experts in the field with the aim of raising public awareness about aesthetic procedures.

Op. Dr. Deniz continues his personal and professional development, keeping his scientific knowledge and practice up to date by following innovative techniques. A member of the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (TPRECD), the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Society (EPCD), and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), Dr. Deniz also served as the TRNC representative at TPRECD between 2022 and 2026.

Medical Aesthetic Procedures

Op. Dr. Erkan Deniz’s clinical work is not limited to surgery; injection-based medical aesthetic treatments make up a significant part of his practice. The understanding of facial anatomy and tissue healing gained during his training in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery guides how the injection plane and the dose are planned. Whether a particular treatment is suitable can only be determined by a physician’s examination.

Botulinum toxin treatments temporarily reduce the activity of the muscles of facial expression, softening dynamic lines on the forehead, between the brows and around the eyes; they are also used for indications such as the masseter muscle and excessive sweating. The effect is not permanent: it wears off gradually over several months and the treatment has to be repeated. On its own it does not correct deep static lines, established volume loss or tissue laxity.

Hyaluronic acid fillers are used to support diminished volume and to balance facial contour; the cheeks, the chin and jawline, the temples, the lips, the nasolabial area and the under-eye region are the main areas treated. Filler does not change the quality of the skin surface and does not replace surgical lifting where laxity is advanced. How long the result lasts depends on the product, on the area treated and on the individual’s tissue.

Biostimulation with calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) works differently from filler: rather than simply adding volume, it aims to stimulate the tissue’s own collagen production, and the initial volume effect gives way over time to that collagen response. Treatments based on poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) and poly-D,L-lactic acid (PDLLA) follow the same principle, with tissue support developing gradually over weeks and months. Results are therefore not seen after a single session, usually require a series of sessions, and vary from person to person.

Skin boosters and mesotherapy work on skin hydration, surface texture and tissue vitality rather than on volume; fine lines and a dull, tired appearance are the main targets of this group of treatments. They do not lift sagging tissue, do not compensate for marked volume loss, and need to be repeated at intervals for the effect to be maintained.

Facial rejuvenation and the liquid facelift are not single treatments but an approach that addresses the different layers of the face together: volume where support has diminished, biostimulation where tissue quality has declined, and toxin where lines are driven by muscle activity. This approach does not replace a surgical facelift; where there is marked excess skin and sagging, surgical options may be more appropriate. The product and the technique are determined according to the patient’s facial anatomy, tissue quality, volume loss and the intended result.
